Celery Seeds: This herb (or plant if you wish) can help reduce the amounts of uric acid that find their way to the joints of the body. Celery seeds act as a diuretic. This means the kidneys work faster to flush out the system, thus lowering amounts of uric acid in the system. Celery seeds also have anti-inflammatory properties and help with overall relaxation. (Please note: pregnant women or people taking blood thinning medications should not take this remedy.)
Apple Cider Vinegar: This is a remedy that comes up quite often when people discuss natural remedies, and is good for many other conditions as well as gout. Some suggest that just two tablespoons a day will help the body better process and get rid of the excess uric acid in the body. Vinegar, however, is hard to swallow, so mix it in a glass of water before drinking. Some report that a small addition of honey makes it easier to drink.
Strawberries: What could be more simple than strawberries? It has been reported that a cup a day of these berries (or as much as a cup with each meal) can help lower uric acid levels. Strawberries contain a neutralizing agent so the body has less uric acid to process, thus relieving pain and inflammation.
All of these natural gout remedy ideas are pretty easy to try and are common items that you might eat anyway. When it comes to the celery seeds and the vitamin C, a quick chat with your doctor to be sure they are entirely safe for you and your unique position is recommended.
